Dear Parent/ Guardian,

I have put together a pack of mixed Literacy and Numeracy resources for your child.

You may wish to encourage your child to complete a little literacy and numeracy each day to keep their brain ticking over!

At home your child can revise spellings completed to date, however, I’ve included a shortened spelling list for 6 weeks so you can continue with Look, Cover, Write and Check activities. You can test at the end of the week if you wish!!

Your child can revise all number facts to date. This is an opportunity to work with your child on their times tables and to further develop quick recall of them.

The Literacy and Numeracy mats, which were laminated and given out at the start of the year will prove very useful learning resource at this time.

Although school is closed, I will be able to regularly set tasks on Mathletics and recommend using this resource with your child if possible.

I’ve attached a list of websites which you may find useful at this time. The children will enjoy learning through games and interactive activities.

I can’t emphasise enough the importance of reading. Any time spent reading with your child is so beneficial for them. Please encourage your child to keep reading on a daily basis. E books are available from librariesni.org.uk and they also have an app available, as do kindle.

Please note, these packs should not be an added stress and if you find your child is struggling with any aspects please just use your own judgement and leave those tasks out.

This is such a difficult and worrying time for us all.

First priority is obviously staying safe and healthy.
